I failed in reaching my traffic goals on YouTube, but what did I learn?
Two month ago, I started three YouTube channels simultaneously. The main common purpose for my 3 channels was generating traffic and monetizing my channels by reaching 1000 subscribers. I tried various methods for each channel. Today, I am still far from achieving my objectives. But I learned many lessons.
In this post, I’d like to share the insights and personal growth I’ve gained along the way.
Discovering new tools
During this journey, I explored various tools and platforms to enhance my content creation process. One significant discovery was Canva Pro, a powerful tool. While it comes at a cost, I found it worthwhile to invest in its capabilities. I’ve also become more proficient in using iMovie for video editing.
Improving my English
One of my three channels is in English, which presented a unique challenge to improve my English skills. Through this process, I have pushed myself to learn new terms and improve my proficiency in English. Even though I still have a lot to learn and I need to improve my accent and pronunciation, it has been rewarding to witness my language skills grow.
Enhancing general knowledge
Creating educational content has its rewards, as I have discovered new facts and insights through research for my channels. While leveraging AI tools like ChatGPT and Bard, I have also learned the importance of fact-checking and verifying information before sharing it on Youtube. It is important to remember that these AI tools are not perfect and can easily make mistakes. It is always important to double-check the information they provide before sharing it with others.
Boosting Self-Confidence
At the beginning of this venture, I struggled with appearing on camera and listening to my own voice. Today I am more comfortable with that. I can now “hear my voice” and provide myself with constructive feedback to refine my tone and delivery, which has been immensely rewarding for my personal growth.
Fostering Creativity and Motivation
Creating content regularly has unleashed a wave of creativity within me. My brain seems to be brimming with endless ideas, although it can be exhausting to keep up with the constant flow. Despite the challenges, this newfound motivation has infused excitement into my daily routine, giving me a sense of purpose beyond the typical daily grind.
Even though I didn’t reach my goals on YouTube, I’m still happy of what I accomplished. I learned new skills and expanded my knowledge.
Despite the many positive aspects of content creation, there are also some challenges that I need to work on. I will discuss these challenges in a future post.
In the future, I want to focus on creating content that I’m passionate about and not worry too much about the numbers.
